​K-8670 Vernon State Wildlife Area (2021-08-19)

2021-08-19 After activating the Tichigan Wildlife Management Area we drove 15 miles to Vernon State Wildlife Area. It is located more-or-less in the city of Mukwonago. We parked in the parking lot and I set up my ic705 and 9' DIY vertical again. Being still kind of new with my ic705 I accidentally changed the main "meter" from reading SWR to reading PWR so that when I checked what I thought was the SWR it appeared way high. Not wanting to damage the radio I made just six contacts and quit! Maybe another time I will get a full activation!
