A Gas Canister Stove
My "very cheap" gas canister stove in action.
11/02/15 Last week while watching videos on YouTube about camping, backpacking, stoves and the like I saw the stove pictured at right by dpower. So I ordered it. I figured for less than $10 I couldn't get hurt too badly. It came in two days! I'm pretty new to all of this so don't have much to compare with. My son has a JetBoil which we've used on all of the trips I have taken with him. Clearly the JetBoil is a quality product, rugged, efficient and very small. But this cute little dpower is about the same size and boils two cups of water in just a few minutes. And I like its push button lighter. I worry that the little igniter tip will burn up as it glows nearly white hot during the entire burn.
I haven't used it "for real" but I have fixed my oatmeal concoction two times plus heated drinking water and even some vegetable soup and have been pleased. Now to find a backpacking buddy and go give it a real test! In the mean time I'll just keep playing with it and my DIY alcohol stove.
