You load the wood gas stove from the top which means that you have to sort of batch feed it and if you don't pay close attention the wood will burn down too much making it slow to get it back up to temperature. On the other hand the Emberlit can be fed from the side so you can keep feeding smaller or even larger a longer pieces in the fire as needed to keep the flame fairly steady. both work well.
