Day 1, Sept 2 - Fairbanks, on our own

Fairbanks. Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum and Pioneer Park. 5:25
We flew from Milwaukee to Fairbanks a day early just to allow ourselves some flexibility and time to adjust to the three hour time difference. So that gave us all day Thursday in Fairbanks to ourselves. We stayed at Bear Lodge on the edge of Fairbanks (I think!). Nice place.

There is an absolutely magnificent antique auto museum right on the resort property called Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum so we walked over there and spent a couple hours. Sharon really enjoyed the display of period men's and women's dress that was included among the autos.

I've visited a lot of auto museums over the years and this is among the very best. I don't know if I would travel to Fairbanks just to see it
