June 28-30 2018 Yogi Bear's Jellystone 

2018-06-30 Well we did two nights at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Caledonia, WI with two of our grandkids and a friend. Of course it would have to be the hottest weekend of the year so far and also the weekend before the 4th of July so it was interesting. Thursday night wasn't bad weather/temperature wise and through most of Friday the place was not crowded but around 4:00 pm the RV's and tents started pouring in and by bedtime every available spot was full! The thermometer began climbing into the 90's early on Friday along with the humidity. We took the tarp off the tent Friday night and got a little relief but it was sticky hot all night.

Saturday It raced back into the 90's early and was to be even higher tomorrow. So while the kids played in the pool after breakfast I broke camp. We headed off for pizza and home around 11:00. It's officially 93 right now (4:30pm) but my thermometer says 97 and it is very steamy. Reminds me of Florida! Thank God for air conditioning!

It was a good time. It is special to be with the grandkids doing something crazy like this! We are so thankful that we live near enough and have health that allows it. I didn't have opportunity to even think about setting up my QRP ham rig.

2018-06-25 This coming weekend we are planning a two night camping excursion to Yogi Bear's Jellystone park in Caledonia, WI with our two grandkids and one, perhaps two friends. We did this  two years ago and the kids have been clambering for it ever since!
