ELECRAFT T1 Automat Antenna Tuner
2021-04-20 Yesterday I received my ELECRAFT T1 auto tuner. So this morning I connected my G5RV antenna to my IC-705 via the T1. Took me a few minutes to sort out the button pushes and sequences to get it set up correctly but did get it! Had I only read the booklet more closely it would have helped. The only other "issue" was that the battery box is not labeled so it is clear which contact is positive and the photo in the booklet shows the battery contacts on the left side of the "battery box" rather than the right side but I took the chance that the contacts would be the same, which they are. I have not made a label showing which is which!
After verifying that it would tune my G5RV on all bands, I called CQ SKCC on 7.054. RBN showed that I was getting out though signals weren't very impressive. But never-the-less after a bit Fred, KZ4D came back and we had a nice chat after exchanging info, I running 10w and he 75w to a dipole.
Then I strung up my "random" 29' end fed antenna. It consists of a QRPGuys mini 9:1 unun, a 29' radiator and a 17' counterpoise. My feedline was a 25' RG-174 coax. The T1 tuned it on all bands from 40m through 6 meters. Had two contacts on 20m with it. So its good to go.

So far I'm pleased with the T1 for use with my IC-705, even if a bit expensive.
